On behalf of the various participating Universities, the Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination on Friday, the 25th May, 2012 at 52 cities spread all over the country and also in Kathmandu (Nepal) for admission in to M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Agri. / M.V.Sc Biotechnology and M.Tech Biotechnology program.

IITM is committed to develop world class research expertise for understanding and exploring unresolved scientific issues in climate sciences. The other institutions under the Ministry of Earth Sciences such as Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR), Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Centre for Marine Living Resources and Ecology (CMLRE), Integrated Coastal Marine Area Management (ICMAM) also specialize in different areas of earth system sciences and technology. The main objective of CAT_ESSC is to generate a large pool of trained and dedicated earth system scientists with in-depth hands-on expertise on individual physical processes of the land, ocean, atmosphere, biosphere and cryosphere with special emphasis on climate modeling. ADMISSION IN TO INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREST MANAGEMENT.

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, a Premier sectoral Management Institute, invites applications for one year M.Phil. Programme in Natural Resource Management (Award of degree by Saurashtra University, Rajkot) Commencing from July, 2012. With a focus on climate change, the programme comprises of class work, field work, seminar, study tour (National as well as abroad) and dissertation.

Eligibility: Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree / Diploma or its equivalent, recognized by an Indian University or Association of Indian Universities with the minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-Non creamy/ PD) in aggregate in the field of Science / Engineering / Management and related Social Sciences (as decided by equivalence committee of the institute). Those appearing in the final year of Post Graduation Examination can also apply: provided they complete the eligibility criteria by June 2012.
Reservation of seats will be applicable to the candidates as per the Government of India norms.

Selection Process: For in-service officers, the application should be forwarded through proper channel which will be screened at the institute for direct interview. Candidates possessing UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET Certificate or PGDFM from IIFM with a minimum of 3.0 OGPA shall also be exempted from written test and be directly called for interview. Others have to qualify a written test conducted by the institute. The cutoff score of the test will be decided by the institute and shall have three components namely English ability, analytical ability and Natural Resource Management aptitude.

AZIM PREMJI FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME.

The 2 year Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship programme seeks to build rich Perspectives on educational issues through a well designed combination of theoretical inputs and experiential learning. The programme is intended to develop a strong social orientation and competencies required in the education and development sectors.

This rigorous 2 year programme comprises

1.   45 day class room module to strengthen conceptual understanding of education and development issues.
2.   22 months of intense field engagement at the grass roots level in the district institutes of the foundation.
3.   Working on a live project that has significant purpose of improving quality at practice level.

During the period of the fellowship you will be based in some of the most underdeveloped districts of India.

About You: You should be a professional with atleast 2 year of experience and at least a graduate degree. We welcome people from a variety of educational & professional backgrounds as long as they are passionate about making a difference. Prior experience in the education or development sector would be an added advantage.

Stipend and employment: You will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000 or more depending on your work experience and suitability for the fellowship. On your successful completion of the programme, you may be offered employment opportunities in the foundation, at an appropriate compensation package.

COUNCIL OF HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION, ODISHA.

Applications are invited from the intending students securing 80% and above marks in Annual Higher Secondary Examination 2011 in Arts, Commerce and Science stream for award of Scholarship to Meritorious Students under Central Sector Scheme.

In order to avail the Scholarship, the student has to satisfy the following conditions:

1.   He / She must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination 2011 conducted by the CHSE, Odisha.
2.   He / She must have passed HS Examination as a regular candidate only. Ex-reg. / Private and Distance Education pass outs are not eligible to apply.
3.   He / She should have secured the minimum total marks as mentioned below in any stream:
a.   Arts   : 418 Marks
b.   Commerce: 430 Marks
c.   Science   : 444 Marks
4.   He / She should prosecute higher studies in any college / university in 2011.
5.   The income limit of the parents from all sources shall not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakhs per annum.
6.   The rate of scholarship shall be Rs. 1000/- P.M. at Graduation level for first three years of the higher courses and Rs. 2000/- P.M. at Post-Graduate level. Students pursuing professional courses shall get Rs. 2000/- P.M. in 4th and 5th year. The scholarship shall be paid for 10 months during an academic year.
7.   The students availing any other scholarship are not eligible to avail this scholarship.
8.   The intending eligible students shall download the prescribed application form and guidelines from the website of the council http://www.ori.nic.in.chse.orissa and submit the complete filled in application by hand or by Regd. Post so as to reached the under signed on or before 15th January, 2012.
